School Leadership for Learning occupies a unique space in that it can support pre-service and in-service educators to promote growth of the students and adults in a school community. This interactive, online text includes videos, images, cases, supplemental resources, and questions designed to assist the reader in mastering the content. Section 1: Learning Theory into Practice provides foundational knowledge of how learning happens, existing learning theory literature and then some application of learning theory more generally, with the key ideas of universal design for learning, metacognition and the special case of millennials as they enter the workforce. Section 2: Looking for Learning supports emerging and practicing educators notice and document the learning around them. This section begins with a framework of leadership standards and instructional leadership that prepares the reader to make the most of the following chapters on curriculum development, lesson planning, observations, and supervising educators. Section 3: Designing Meaningful Professional Learning considers professional learning and the very human aspects of learning theory, readiness to learn as well as how to plan and evaluate professional learning. Section three includes purposeful treatment of how technology can be maximized for all levels of learning and the key implications for higher education.
