STEM courses are a gateway to a wide range of academic disciplines, highlighting the importance of creating learning experiences that help all students succeed. For award-winning instructors Dr. Viji Sathy and Dr. Kelly Hogan, that starts with promoting belonging and empowering students with opportunities to practice applying knowledge, take risks and learn from mistakes.

In this interactive presentation, Dr. Sathy and Dr. Hogan will discuss why feelings of exclusion cause a disproportionate number of students to leave STEM majors.
